Aqualeader recognised by the United States Coast Guard / AMVER Maritime Relations
On January 31, 2015, the Aqualeader responded to a request for assistance from RCC Alameda in supporting the Coast Guard air assets in a search and rescue case involving the sailing vessel FLYIN HAWAIIAN. The Master, officers and crew of the Aqualeader displayed outstanding seamanship and professionalism, by skilfully maneuvering the vessel, navigating in 12-foot seas and 20 knot winds to create a lee for the five persons onboard the FLYIN HAWAIIAN to be able to abandon the vessel. The operation was completed successfully and the Aqualeader's efforts have been recognised and honoured by the United States Coast Guard.
